This is a grassroots effort addressed to the residents of Little Neck, Douglaston, Belrose Manor and Glen Oaks in Queens, New York. Jump start a conversation with the NYCDOT and NYC Department of Parks and Recreation!
Are you concerned that there is no sidewalk on the west side of Commonwealth Boulevard for pedestrians adjacent to the Douglaston Golf Course? If so, please take action and reach out to your local elected officials, the Queens NYCDOT, and your local Community Board to ask for Capital Funding for the city to install a wide pedestrian sidewalk on the west side of Commonwealth Blvd from Marathon Parkway to the edge of The Frank Padavan Education Campus.
Also, this initiative should include adding a sidewalk on part of 61st Avenue which is the northern boundary of the golf course. Check it out!

Local residents can help by making safe walking and safe driving practices a habit.
Drawing attention to matters that are overlooked, or ignored, such as the lack of a sidewalk on Commonwealth Blvd in Queens helps everyone work together in the interest of pedestrian safety.
Speaking up may speed up the process by which the city decides to add a sidewalk on the west side of Commonwealth Blvd adjacent to and past the Douglaston Golf Course, and along 61st Avenue on the north side of the Douglaston Golf Course.
This website serves as an open invitation and opportunity for you to practice civic engagement. Write a letter, send an email, or simply speak up! It is an investment worth making.
Thank you.
